About Lamp
We’re building the dating app we wished existed — one that treats people as more than a photo and a snap judgement.
Dating apps got good at volume and bad at connection.
Swipe culture turned meeting people into a numbers game. It’s exhausting, it rewards the most photogenic rather than the most compatible, and it leaves a lot of genuinely great people feeling invisible.
We started Lamp on a simple belief: the things that make two people click — humour, values, the way they see the future — can’t be captured by a filter. So we built an app that pays attention to them instead, and an AI assistant that helps with the awkward, human parts in between.
A different starting point
Compatibility over filters
Filters are blunt. They tell you someone's height and whether they own a dog; they tell you nothing about whether you'd actually enjoy a Sunday together. Lamp matches on the deeper stuff — personality, values, and what you each want next.
Genie, your AI wingman
Dating apps are great at showing you people and terrible at helping you connect with them. Genie closes that gap: a bio that sounds like you, an opener that lands, a date idea that fits. Always a suggestion, never a stand-in.
Wishes, in your own words
Instead of forcing your hopes into checkboxes, Lamp lets you describe who you're looking for in plain language — and actually takes it into account.

An AI dating app only earns trust if it’s honest. These are the standards we hold ourselves to:
- We design for safety: AI moderation, plus the tools to block, unmatch, and report whenever you need them.
- We don't fake engagement. No bots posing as matches, no invented stats, no manufactured popularity.
- We respect your privacy. We're clear about what we collect, we keep it secure, and you can delete it whenever you like.
Where we operate
