How we research, write and stand behind every word.
Lamp is a dating product, and this site exists to convince you it's the right one. That makes our standards more important, not less. Here's exactly how our content is made — and the lines we will not cross.
Lamp’s dating content is written and reviewed by the Lamp editorial team, grounded in published relationship science, and held to a strict honesty standard: no fabricated ratings, user counts or reviews, and competitor facts that are dated and verified.
Who writes Lamp’s content
Lamp’s guides, comparisons and explainers are produced by the Lamp editorial team — the people who build the product, working with writers and reviewers who know the relationship-science literature. We use AI tools to help draft and research, exactly as you would expect from a modern AI-native company, but every published page is reviewed by a human on our team before it goes live and is accountable to Codewise Ltd, the company that operates Lamp.
We byline this work as “The Lamp Team” rather than inventing individual personas. We would rather be transparent that this is the company’s own editorial voice than dress it up as something it isn’t. When a specific person’s expertise shapes a piece, we’ll say so.
Four standards, no exceptions
We never fabricate proof
No invented user counts, no fake star ratings, no made-up awards, no fabricated reviews or testimonials. Lamp does not publish those numbers, so we never imply them — anywhere on the site or in our structured data. Our case for Lamp rests on how the product actually works, not on manufactured social proof.
We ground the science
When we say compatibility, values and personality predict lasting relationships, we mean the established research literature — from Byrne's similarity-attraction work to couple studies by Luo and Klohnen (2005) and Gaunt (2006). We frame these as among the stronger correlates of satisfaction, not a guarantee of any outcome.
We date and verify competitor facts
Where we describe how a rival app works — its tiers, pricing or feature rules — those are facts we observe and review on a schedule, with a visible "last reviewed" note on comparison pages. Our verdicts are clearly our own editorial view. We attack the swipe model on the merits; we don't invent facts about the companies that run it.
We date content honestly
Our "updated" dates reflect genuine content changes — never the build clock. We don't re-stamp pages to fake freshness. If a guide hasn't materially changed, its date doesn't move.
How we handle claims about Lamp
We make a confident, direct case for Lamp because we believe in the product — that compatibility-based matching beats swiping for people who want a real relationship. That confidence is positioning and opinion, grounded in how Lamp actually works: AI matching on personality and values, a curated few introductions instead of an endless feed, Genie to help you open a conversation, and natural-language Wishes. What you will never find is a fabricated statistic dressed up as fact. Where we state something measurable, it is either verifiable or clearly framed as our view.
How we reference competitors
We name Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and others to contrast their model with Lamp’s. Our criticism is of the swipe-and-volume model, not of the people who use those apps. Factual mechanics (tiers, limits, pricing) are described as we observe them and carry a dated “last reviewed” note; they can change, so we point you to each provider’s own site for the current detail. The conclusions we draw are our editorial judgement.
Corrections
If you spot something inaccurate — a competitor fact that has changed, a misstatement, anything at all — tell us and we will fix it. Accuracy is part of the standard, not an afterthought. Email hello@lampdating.com.
