Genie (Lamp)

Genie is the AI dating assistant built into Lamp. Its job is to smooth the parts of online dating that most apps leave you to manage alone: writing a profile bio that sounds like you rather than like a LinkedIn summary, crafting a conversation opener tailored to a specific match rather than a generic "hey", and generating date ideas suited to what you and your match actually have in common. It is there when the blank message box is intimidating and when the bio feels impossible — a useful starting point and a creative nudge, when you need one.

The critical line is control. Genie only ever suggests. It drafts, it offers options, it gives you a starting point — but you write, edit and send every message yourself. Genie never sends on your behalf, never pretends to be you, and never takes over any part of a real conversation. Every word that reaches your match comes from you. The assistant removes the friction; the authenticity is entirely yours.
